Rob counsels closely held businesses on how to incorporate employee ownership into their business succession plans, and represents selling shareholders, ESOP sponsors and ESOP fiduciaries in transactions involving employer securities. His related practice areas include equity-based compensation, business acquisitions and divestitures and employee benefit matters. Prior to joining SFE&G in 2003, Rob was a partner in the Providence office of Nixon Peabody LLP. Rob lectures and writes frequently on the uses of ESOPs in ownership transition planning for privately held companies. He is a member of The ESOP Association and the National Center for Employee Ownership, and a trustee of the Employee Ownership Foundation.
