Robert W. Edwards - Principal

Robert W. Edwards is a partner in SES Advisors' affiliated law firm, Steiker, Fischer, Edwards & Greenapple, P.C. and he concentrates his practice in the areas of employee ownership, equity-based compensation, and general corporate and employee benefits law. He is a leading advisor to a number of public and private companies that have adopted or considered adopting an employee stock ownership plan.

Rob counsels closely-held businesses on how to incorporate employee ownership into their business succession plans, and represents selling shareholders, ESOP sponsors and ESOP fiduciaries in transactions involving employer securities. His related practice areas include equity-based compensation, business acquisitions and divestitures and employee benefit matters. Prior to joining SFE&G in 2003, Rob was a partner in the Providence office of Nixon Peabody LLP.

Rob lectures and writes frequently on the uses of ESOPs in ownership transition planning for privately held companies. He is a member of The ESOP Association and the National Center for Employee Ownership, and a trustee of the Employee Ownership Foundation.

Rob is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.
